Thank you for your interest. I hope you’ll find this letter helpful. There’s pairings and fandoms I might have to say a lot about, others not as much. That doesn’t mean I’d like them less than others. Quite the contrary, I just haven't been exposed to them enough to start gushing about them.
I picked 'Any' for freeforms in every request, even if I don't know half of those freeforms. However, with the theme of this exchange, I can't imagine being anything but delighted with whatever you chose as inspiration. Write where your heart and inspiration leads you to.
Generally, I love creation myths of all kinds. The big ones on how the world came to be and the smaller, regional ones of a giantess attempting to steal some sand and loosing some of that when having to flee and thus creating some hills; all those stories that explain why the world works as it does. Or just make up your own, epic or silly, of universal importance or just about why the bread always lands on the buttered side.
As for creatures, gimmeh all of them! Creepy, cute, canidae, reptilian, horned, winged, slimy, fishy, tentacly or just ethereal, two legs, no legs, 50 legs and hands…
…include, but aren’t limited to:
It's hard to say what I like. There’s so many styles and media in which to art. I like dark blue and I love lush, deep red. So, have fun with your own style or experiment. Just… don’t give me piggy rosy rose, please.
I’m quite okay with violence and guts and blood splattered all over the interior. However, I don’t want my requested characters to get out of the whole ordeal broken or even seriously hurt. I’m also still trying to pinpoint the line between YAY! GORE! and EEEK! TOO REALISTIC! *faints* So, if you want to add violence, it’s safer to go absolutely Evil Dead 2-meets-Tarantino-over-the-top.
Some of the fandoms here are inspired by or directly based on existing legends and myths. Please, do not feel tied down by that in any way. If you want to put Godzilla into a 100 year sleep, only to be woken by ancient Greek Gamera’s loving kiss, go for it. Mix and Match to whatever fits your vision.
This fandom would lend itself rather easy to retell Greek legends, however I challenge you to put them into other myths and legends, too. ;)
I'm not exactly sure how it came to be that Asterius/Theseus/Zagreus has become something of my current OT3… Also, there’s not enough Asterius/Zagreus around yet. Fact.
I'd love a fun story with those idiots (Apart from Asterius. Bull Man is not an idiot.) Are Zagreus and Theseus forced to work together to save fair prince Asterius from the evil king's labyrinth? Does Asterius need Zagreus' help to break a curse? Has something broken into the underworld and past the Champions of Elysium?
I am somewhat puzzled that there seems to hardly be anything around that focuses on the secret aspects of the Infernal Arms. They're like an invitation to canonical crossovers.
The Prince of the Underworld, a Fury and Death Incarnate walk into a fairy tale…
War walks into a fairy tale. The Prince of the Underworld and Death Incarnate are not amused. Or are they?
I feel like Sylens and HADES have a kinda Faustian relationship.
Will Aloy find a way to restore GAIA? Maybe even just GAIA's 'mind' in a makeshift vessel? What would they talk about?
As for Sylens and APOLLO, I guess Sylens would move Heavens and Hell and overcome any fairy tale obstacle imaginable to restore the collected wisdom of the old world.
How could machines fit into the world of myths, legends and fairy tales? Would an AI that's based on a different mythology create different machines? Like if GAIA wasn't Gaia, but YMIR, how would those machines look like and behave towards humans?
If put in fairy tales, how would machines be tempted into assisting the heroine? Or in which way would the be monsters and obstacles to be overcome?
If you can call Erend a knight at all…
I really enjoyed the missions you could play together with Erend. Their chemistry was a lot of fun.
I just adore Death and that little Grim Squeaker.
Due to the nature of the story and some requested characters, I'll leave my character death DNW out for this fandom. (I'd still appreciate if you don't go and kill off everyone. ☠️)
Fun and catastrophes on the road together with a Babylonian language mix. What could possibly go wrong apart from everything?
One could think of them as a cursed family, almost. When nominating, I was thinking about Tuuri, Lalli and Onni, but of course, there's the family members in the Prologue or Ensi we could be hearing stories about.
Onni and Reynir are my friendship OTP. Their interactions simply spark so much joy.
As for Sigrun, I adore our most best goofball captain with surprising streaks of competence shining through. Which creatures could she encounter on her adventures?
What has the Kade been up after the little island has been deserted? Are there other Kades around in other parts of the world? How does the inner workings of a Kade look like? Is it similar to Sleipnope's collected minds and a place of despair and desolation or would it be a place of cold calculation and malice?
Go wild with whatever you can think of. Does the deactivation plan fail? Is he going to wake again? What's up with that ominous last shot of his tail? Are we going to get an army of H.R-Giger-themed fairies swarming the world?
I feel there could have been done more with Kiryu being made from the first Godzilla's bones. More mayhem and destruction, more implications of life and death and it's natural course, more regrets and anger, maybe eventual forgiveness?
The two poster kaijus of tokusatsu. What could they get up to together or against each other? Would they fight each other or be forced to work together to defend the Earth against dangers?
This nomination was inspired by this video of Shin Godzilla mutating and mutating until he's literally hosting a new universe and becomes, well, God.
Of course, you don't have to go down that route. There's also the Rage Across Time comic, which has Godzilla single-handedly destroying the Greek pantheon in the second chapter.
This makes a lot more sense that you'd think at first and I'll never see enough of those two battling their way out of the Underworld. 😁
Best Boi just wants to have fun. ;)
As usual with Original Work, I don't really have much to say about the pairings. They usually feel like prompts themselves, really.
OF Pirate Captain/OF Sea Creature
OM Fisherman/OF Bioluminescent Water Creature
OM Shipwrecked Pirate Captain & OM Sea Creature that saves him
Ruthless Pirate Captain/ONB Sea Creature they attempt (and fail) to catch
Just apply the Harkness Test and we're fine. ;)
Runaway Heir to a Throne & Assassin sent to kill them
Runaway Heir to a Throne & Pirate Captain Helping them Escape the Kingdom
Why is the heir running away? Will they return or leave their kingdom to whatever fate?
Magical Tattoo Artist/Client That Wants to Ask Them Out But Just Keeps Getting Tattoos Instead
What is it that makes that tattoos magical? Do they bring luck or bad luck, fulfil wishes, reveal things hidden, move around and play out your favourite movie? Will the client ever muster up enough courage before they run out of empty skin?
